The "Geleucht" is a lamp that is inspired from the thematic field of mining, but designed for the living spaces. Due to many closing mines the luminaire is also an object of remembrance of the mining industry and its traditions. This appreciation is highlighted by various elements of the design. Especially functionality is an important criteria during the design process.
In case of a power blackout the luminaire is still functioning. Then the batteries take over and keep the light glowing. Therefore it can be also detached from the cable and used as a lantern.
Similar to the requirements in the field of mining it can be carried, laid and hung in various positions. Thus, a wide range of lighting possibilities is covered.
To protect the hand from the hot metal, the handle is spanned with rubber. So it quotes the function of the “Arschleder”, which in earlier times protected the seat of the miners’ pants from moisture and abrasion.
Particular attention is given to the cold white LED, which is much more efficient than a warm white LED. Its light is indirectly guided through a metal reflector of a warm material color (copper or bronze). Thus a key function, a warm color of the light in living spaces is achieved. Therefore also the material of the reflector, which has been raised since thousands of years, is given a higher attention and value.
